WS Parker Complete School Improvement Plan

Goal 1
Goal 2
Goal 3
Goal 4

School Improvement Goals
Goal One
The school council will provide leadership and support as the Parker community transitions to new leadership.

Rationale

Parker will have a new principal next fall.  This will require adjustments on the part of everyone – staff, students, parents and the new principal.  The school council will work collaboratively with staff and parents to facilitate the transfer in leadership.

Goal Two
To enhance home-school communication.
Rationale
Effective communication between home and school is essential to serving a child’s educational, social, and emotional needs.

Goal Three
To continue providing the students with the necessary skills and strategies to
master the material they will be learning and to demonstrate that mastery on tests, specifically the MCAS and other standardized measures.

Rationale
ParkerMiddle School continues to achieve superior results on the MCAS and standardized tests. This goal should continue to be a school-wide effort and should be embraced by as many areas as possible.

Goal Four
To examine the practices that help define the climate and culture of the
ParkerMiddle School.  Areas to be examined include security procedures, community service, dress code, progress reports, and the teacher/parent partnership.
Rationale
The school practices that are already in place must be constantly reassessed so that they align with the goals of the school.  The areas to be examined go a long way in shaping the academic as well as the social experience of middle school students.  This examination of our practices will ensure the continued quality experience of Parker students.
